Modules Overview
Module Options
All modules integrate INP2045 Wi-Fi/BLE SoC with associated RF BOM components and a choice of antenna options. All modules are certified with the Wi-Fi Alliance and Bluetooth SIG and include government body certifications such as FCC, IC (Canada) and CE/RED approval. The key differences between the modules are listed below:
The IoT battery-based Wi-Fi market is at an inflection point, expected to hit 1 billion units by 2025, according to ABI Research. And the multi-award-winning Talaria TWO wireless modules are poised to accelerate that growth. The modules solve the most critical issue which has impeded that growth, drastically reducing Wi-Fi power consumption. The Talaria TWO Wi-Fi + BLE platform makes it possible for products to be battery-based for the first time or enables them to last months or years longer.
The highly successful Talaria TWO module family (INP1010 / 1011 / 1012 / 1013 / 1014 / 1015) are complete solutions with integrated wireless connectivity plus microcontroller for edge-of-network IoT designs that require a direct-to-cloud connection. The newest modules (INP1012/13/14/15) offer a smaller form factor that are forty percent smaller than the INP1010/1011. They include the groundbreaking digital polar radio architecture with the industry's lowest power Wi-Fi connectivity. The module solutions are ideally suited for smart door locks, connected sensors, security cameras, asset tracking devices, health monitoring wearables, audio speakers and many other IoT products within home, commercial, industrial and health markets.
The modules unleash design engineers' imagination to add more intelligence and functionality to products. In addition to the small size, they offer a variety of antenna options and meet the growing demand for faster time to market. The entire module family uses the Talaria TWO Multi-Protocol SoC, a CES 2020 Innovation Award honoree, with Wi-Fi and BLE5 for wireless data transfer, an embedded Arm Cortex-M3 for system control and user applications plus advanced security elements for device safeguards.
The modules can operate in stand-alone mode, in conjunction with an external MCU or in a hybrid mode where the system control and processing responsibilities are shared between the module and an external MCU. Using the module is easy - just connect a single power supply and GPIOs to your peripherals then the system is ready for use.

Evaluation & Development Kits (INP301x)
The INP3010/3011/3012/3013/3014/3015 EVB-A Development Boards include everything needed for evaluating the Talaria TWO module's performance and capabilities. They can also be used for initial system integration and development.
Features of the EVB-A hardware include:
- Arduino UNO format interface board with mounted Talaria TWO Module (INP1010, INP1011, INP1012, INP1013, INP1014 or INP1015) for easy evaluation in stand-alone mode or in conjunction with an external MCU
- Integrated Pressure/Humidity, Temperature and Light sensors for prototyping. Other sensor connection possible through available I2C or SPI ports.
- Pre-compiled software binaries for quick evaluation of the module's key performance specifications
- USB connectivity for power, loading programs onto the board and terminal message printout
- Connection to available GPIO through central header pins or through Arduino header pins at the board edge
- Power supplied from USB, external Arduino board or optional battery connection
- External antenna included for INP3011, INP3012 and INP3015 kits
- Port available for direct measurement of module current consumption
Additional EVB-A Feature: Host MCU Interface Package for STM32 Nucleo Development Boards
Certain designs require a main MCU with specialized, high performance processing and high number of peripheral interfaces plus wireless networking for data and cloud connectivity from an external chipset. In these Hosted Mode scenarios, the Talaria TWO Module can be a Serial-to-Wireless device providing Wi-Fi and BLE data connections while concurrently managing the IP networking stack.
InnoPhase has developed a self-contained application that runs on the Talaria TWO module and associated host interface drivers that run on the STM32L4 MCU. The two applications allow the MCU host to communicate with the Talaria TWO module over serial connection, either SPI or UART, and simplifies the Talaria TWO control commands to straightforward MCU function calls. Both applications for the Talaria TWO module and the STM32L4 MCU are available as part of the evaluation Software Package download below.
Includes support for either the ST NUCLEO-L433RC or NUCELO-L4A6ZG platforms. The L4A6ZG is used when an encrypted serial connection between the Host MCU and Talaria TWO is required.
