InnoPhase Wins IoT Breakthrough Award For Semiconductor Product of The Year 2022

IoT Breakthrough Awards Program Honors Standout Internet-of-Things Companies and Products

PRESS RELEASE

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 14, 2022 – InnoPhase, a fabless semiconductor company specializing in extreme low power wireless IoT solutions, today announced that its Talaria TWO™ wireless platform has been selected as the winner of the “IoT Semiconductor Product of the Year” award conducted by IoT Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global Internet-of-Things (IoT) market today.

Talaria TWO combines wireless connectivity and an integrated microcontroller for edge-of-network battery-based IoT devices requiring ultra-low power Wi-Fi and a direct-to-cloud connection. This is achieved through InnoPhase’s groundbreaking unique, programmable digital polar radio architecture which dramatically reduces Wi-Fi radio current consumption. The platform is ideally suited for battery-based, direct-to-cloud devices such as home automation, smart door locks, remote security cameras, connected sensors, portable patient monitoring devices, wearables, and other energy-critical wireless IoT applications.

“We designed the Talaria TWO platform so that battery-based, edge-of-the-network IoT products will now be able to last many months or years between battery changes,” said Yang Xu, Founder, and CEO at InnoPhase. “Our solution can be further optimized for even lower power and cost improvements in the future. This recognition is incredibly gratifying, and we look forward to continued success and momentum driving IoT innovation.”

The mission of the IoT Breakthrough Awards program is to recognize the innovators, leaders, and visionaries from around the globe in a range of IoT categories, including Industrial and Enterprise IoT, Smart City technology, Connected Home, and Home Automation, Connected Car, and many more. This year’s program attracted more than 3,850 nominations from companies all over the world.

“The most critical issue holding back the market development and growth of battery-based IoT products is the significant amount of power required by today’s analog-centric radio architectures. Battery-based IoT products simply don’t last long enough between recharging,“ said James Johnson, managing director at IoT Breakthrough. “InnoPhase’s pioneering technology enables an entirely new category of high volume, battery-powered consumer, commercial, medical and industrial applications that are not possible using today’s wireless semiconductor technology.”

The Talaria TWO platform is a highly integrated, multi-protocol module that includes Wi-Fi and BLE5-Long Range for wireless data transfer, an embedded Arm Cortex-M3 for system control and user applications, plus advanced security elements for device safeguards. The modules can operate in stand-alone mode, in conjunction with an external MCU, or in a hybrid mode where the system control and processing responsibilities are shared between the module and an external MCU.

The Talaria TWO modules and associated hardware reference platforms, ADKs, and solutions come with all the necessary certifications and are available through our network of worldwide distribution partners.
